Internal audit

Independent assessment of the NDC’s internal control system.

Internal audit carries out an independent assessment of the National Depository Center’s internal control system, risk management and corporate governance processes.

Independence

Internal audit reports directly to the Supervisory Board and stands outside day-to-day operational management. This line of reporting guarantees the objectivity of the audit: the unit being audited cannot influence its findings.

Areas of activity

  • Checking that operations comply with legislation and internal rules;
  • Assessing the effectiveness of internal control mechanisms;
  • Auditing information systems;
  • Assessing the risk management process;
  • Monitoring the remedy of identified deficiencies;
  • Submitting periodic reports to the Supervisory Board.

Internal audit work is carried out under an annual audit plan approved by the Supervisory Board.
