National Numbering Agency service
Assigning international ISIN and CFI codes to securities.
The National Depository Center performs the function of the National Numbering Agency in the Republic of Azerbaijan and is a member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA).
Codes assigned
- ISIN (ISO 6166) — the International Securities Identification Number. It consists of twelve characters and identifies a security uniquely worldwide.
- CFI (ISO 10962) — a six-character classification code describing the type and main features of a security.
- FISN (ISO 18774) — the short standard name of a security.
Why they are needed
Without international codes, a security cannot be recorded at foreign depositories, admitted to trading on international platforms or offered to foreign investors. Codes are assigned upon the issuer’s application.
